Essential Oils as Food
HEADLINE NEWS
"Governments may have to consider legislation to reduce the salt, fat, sugar and other unhealthy ingredients in manufactured foods, according to a new report by the World Health Organization." — MSNBC News Home Page - Health - Oct. 30, 2002
HOW MISGUIDED IS IT when foodstuffs required for optimum health are demonized. Their natural benefits have been mutilated to serve the demands of convenience and economics. This has become the case with salt (sodium) and fat (lipids).
United States Surgeon General David Satcher said:
"Only 3% of all Americans meet federal recommendations for the intake of
grains, fruits, and vegetables." (Click

Essential Oils as Food
We can safely use Young Living Essential Oils because they are certified as food by the FDA. These aromatic plant juices support the health of all body systems on so many fronts, and they are amazingly versatile.
Experimenting with essential oils in the kitchen can be rewarding in more ways than one around the holidays. Sharing amongst family and friends can involve colds and sore throats as well as good will conditions. See How to use Essential Oils.
Eating EOs is a great way to experience them for their gusto as well as therapeutic benefit. Whenever possible add them either after cooking or near the end; a little goes a long way. Mix batters and prove up overnight with a drop or two of your favorite.
Fruit cakes last so long partly because spice oils are such perfect natural preservatives.
For your holiday baking of breads, cakes, cookies, pies, fruit puddings, porridge — use cinnamon, nutmeg, orange, lemon, spearmint, ginger, coriander, fennel.
Seasoning for stuffings, vegetables, dressings, game, fish, poultry, grains — use thyme, oregano, sage, marjoram, rosemary, dill, basil, tarragon.
Tip: Sometimes just dipping a natural wooden toothpick into the vial's reducer and then stirring it in is enough for delicate sauces and dressings.
Essential Oils in your Harvest Home
Offer a drop to welcome your family and guests. Diffuse
upon arrival and after eating. Use them to scent napkins and linens, finger
bowls and drinking water, place cards and centerpiece.
